  1. You know what, Lee? I still think about your mom's Johnny Marzetti, how funny is that? Especially since I've been eating a pescatarian diet for about a year now. I wonder if I could create a meatless version... probably could if I had the original recipe *coughhinthintcough* Your mom could make the tastiest dishes on a tight budget. Talk about an inspiration for a frugal life :-)

  2. It means I don't eat cows, pigs, chickens, etc. but I do eat fish and plants. After movies like Earthlings and Food, Inc. I couldn't dismiss what I was eating as "just food," not when it had a face and screamed whilst being killed for me to eat. I came to the realization that if I couldn't kill it myself, then I was not going to eat it. And the only things I could kill (and clean) myself are vegetation and fish. I'm a huge animal lover - six felines to prove it - and I just couldn't do it anymore: kill an animal when I could survive just fine without eating them. It's a personal choice though and I don't try to push my beliefs on others. Although, my daughter is a little more vocal about it :) I simply share a different perspective with others; a perspective many of us are never shown because the meat industry is big bucks and society has been programmed to be "meat eaters" for so long. Hope that answered your question ;)
